Dora Update...

Ella remains OBSESSED with everything Dora. And to be honest, I don't think we're helping. Brian and I took her to buy her birthday party stuff -- ALL DORA -- at Walmart last weekend. She wants to play with it all and we keep telling her to wait for her party. So now she asks, "Where's my party?" (referring to the party STUFF.)

I have rather lofty ambitions of making a Dora cake. I'm sure it won't be of "David Cummins" caliber, as I use a specialty cake pan and don't make stuff up off the top of my head, but I'm hoping my Mom and Sis can help out.

Back to the Dora thing... Ella wanted me to leave the bathroom and go into the living room with her the other night. She said, "Come On Momma, Vamanos." Make that three Spanish words she's learned from Dora. I guess all the torture watching endless hours of it hasn't been for naught.

It's Friday Night...

...and the mood is right.
Gonna have some fun,
Show you how it's done, TGIF!
Ok, that is goofy, but I have had a song in my heart ALL DAY! :)
So happy, mainly because I weighed-in this morning and I am down another 3 lbs. I have officially hit my 10 lb goal earlier than planned. Woo hoo! So, to reward myself, I am gonna go buy me a Valentine's Coffee Cup from Starbucks.
Happy Weekend Everyone!

PS - Did I mention?

That I have the SMILEYEST baby around? She is always SO HAPPY!

And it makes me SO Happy!

Weekend Warrior!

So, this was my first official weekend in the world of reality. We headed out to Austin for my neice's 4th birthday party and I was exposed to the ugly underbelly that IS birthday party food. But, it could have been much worse. At least my in laws are pretty health conscious people. I ate banana and kiwi and a bit of chex mix and 2 mini pig in a blankets: one with white bread and one with wheat. Of course I had a little cake and a small scoop of Chocolate Covered Cherry Ice Cream too. But, I tried to remember PORTION SIZE!

While I can't account for how many calories I took in at the party, I was aware of what I ate for the rest of the day and recorded it down as usual. I have learned that CHICKFILA has an AWESOME website with a nutrion CALCULATOR that helps you quickly and easily assess all you eat there. VERY HELPFUL! KUDDOS FOR THEM! I also discovered Starbucks' new SKINNY LATTE line, and imagine my delight when I knew I could have Cinnamon Dolce Latte in the appropriately snappy cold weather and not feel TOO GUILTY for it. It's a beverage thats COMPLETELY DOABLE in my Calorie Budget.

PS - Friday, I weighed myself at school and I am down 2 more lbs. 7 lbs in 2 weeks! Yay!

Lovely SUCCESS!

Just a little note about "dieting Dusti." Aside from eating a whole lot better and watching my caloric intake -- I have been busting booty in PE class. My first initial goal was 10 lbs before Valentine's Day. I am proud to say I have lost 5 lbs in the past 2 weeks. I guess I am well on my way to my goal! Keep praying for me!

GO ME! :)

Guess who's back!

Yes, that's right ladies and gentlemen, It's DIETING DUSTI!
I officialy jumped on the band wagon this past week after a complete debauchery fest at my in-laws house post-Christmas.

So I have this new, cool, online tool I am using. It's at

http://caloriecount.about.com/

You can keep track of what you eat and how much you exercise, look up nutritional content, journal, talk to other people who are also trying to change their lives, and other stuff.

Its really cool! I will keep you updated on my progress. If you end up joining, go on and be my friend "and we can talk, ya know, no big whoop!"

:)
