I saw the "Snowflake" today.

I saw my 3rd baby today for the very first time today. Even though (s)he looks like a little jellybean with a heartbeat, it was beautiful and exciting all the same. Brian came with me, as he did for both the girls' official "film debut." He's such a good Daddy.

The official due date is December 29. That makes me exactly 8 weeks today. Because I have to have another c-section, they'll take the baby early, right before Christmas. I think it's an amazing time to have a little baby. Especially when its a time to remember that Jesus was a little baby once. No one expected Him to come like He did, but he came to save the world anyway.

And "Snowflake" is kinda the same way. No one, least of all me, expected this arrival. But, God knows what He is doing. I just have to remember that. I know snowflake is a silly name. It hardly ever snows at Christmas in Houston. But, maybe it will this year, who knows!?
I have come to expect the unexpected!

Sisters are doing it for themselves.

My baby girl Ainslie hit two milestones this week. She started crawling and she cut her two bottom teeth! My fear is that she'll pass up crawling and start walking in a matter of weeks. She already tries to pull herself up on things and while in her pack n play. She also sometimes forgoes her knees and pulls her self up on her hands and feet while trying to get around. My Ainslie is SOME KINDA ACTIVE! She is all over the place and if she doesn't want to be held or strapped into a car seat, she will bow her back up, over and over again until you let her down or out. She is a busy little bee, that's for sure.

My Ella is "Miss Independent" all of the sudden. Everything she does, she wants to do ALONE, without any help from Mommy or Daddy. She wants to put on her own clothes, she wants to TRY to get her own food. Of course, she still needs me in attendance during potty time. She doesn't want me to do anything but WATCH, of course. That is one thing I wish she didn't want me there for. :)

In any other situation, I feel I would be a bit misty-eyed about their progress. I am proud, but a little sad. However the idea that another baby right around the corner makes it OK.

With child...

I found out last week that we are expecting another baby. So, here's the questions I have been asked:

"Are you serious?"
"Are you kidding?"
"Don't you know how that happens?"

Here are my answers:
"Yes. No. and Yes, I do."

This new situation I've found myself in is a little perplexing. On one hand I am worried. Ainslie is only 6 months old. That means she and the next baby will only be 14 months apart. Our house is too small, our car is too small. We have to shop for both, now. We will barely be able to afford daycare. Not to mention I have lost 30 lbs since January, and have been busting my booty to get back in shape.

On the other hand, this IS STILL a blessing. I always thought about having another baby... later, but another one just the same. I just have always thought that there was still a bit of my heart that was unfilled and there was space left for one more baby. I can only think that this will be a great adventure, scary, but an adventure and worth it all the same.

Sad Day.

My heart is breaking for my best friend who lost her little boy this weekend. It's hard to comfort a friend when you don't know what to say or what to do, other than spend half the time crying with them, and half the time trying to be strong for them.

Rhonda, I love you .You are my best friend. You're a Mommy now, even if you can't hold your baby anymore. The angels will hold him for you until you can be with him one day.

We will miss you, Little Henry. I know I'll get to meet you one day in Heaven.

Ella's First Portrait Drawing

This was done in the back of the Element several months ago, Ella drew it. She told Brian and I that it was "Mommy & Daddy." I haven't been able to get off my phone until recently..... so enjoy!

Lovey Sisters!

Ella and Ainslie are REALLY starting to take a liking to each other. Ella loves on her all the time and talks to her in what I have come to term the "tire screech" voice. Ainslie loves it and laughs, but Brian and I think otherwise. The other day I had both girls on the bed. Ainslie was laying down and I was about to change her diaper so I grabbed her by the ankles and pulled her toward me. Then, Ella grabbed her sister by the wrists and pulled her back toward her and said,

"I want Ainslie,
she's mine."

My photo
I have 2 lovely daughters and 2 handsome sons, who keep me very busy and a husband who keeps me grounded. I received my BA in Graphic Design Communication in 2003. A year and a half later after working in corporate America as a graphic designer and living through my OWN REAL LIFE "OFFICE SPACE" I got certified as art teacher. I have been teaching since the fall of 2004.
